有钱任性 深圳女富豪买下卑诗第三家购物中心

温哥华太阳报专栏作者Douglas Todd近日发表文章,称一位中国女商人已在加拿大卑诗省买下第三间大型购物中心,并且有意开发住房。

文章称,中国亿万富豪刘伟宏(Liu Weihong)已经买下卑诗省第三间大型购物中心,计划将零售物业中的一部分改建成住房。

被收购的Tsawwassen Mills购物中心拥有200多家门店,估值$4.12亿元。

这个购物中心位于Tsawwassen First Nation保留地,五年前在Tsawwassen第一民族的农地上建造的。

文章称,过去两年里,刘购买了维多利亚的梅菲尔购物中心(Mayfair Shopping Centre),这是该市最大的购物中心,估价$2.42亿元。她还购买了Nanaimo的伍德格罗夫购物中心(Woodgrove Centre),估价$2.6亿元。2019年,她通过自己的公司怡景中心城(Central Walk),买下了维多利亚北部Cobble Hill的Arbutus Ridge高尔夫俱乐部。

有报道称,在去年收购梅菲尔购物中心时,刘曾表示:“因为这个社区张开双臂接受了我,我致力于继续与当地领导人合作,建立我们投资的社区,以便我们共同使他们成为最好的地方。”  

中心城的网站介绍,刘伟宏是公司“董事会主席”。2014年之前,该公司在深圳拥有一个约140万平方英尺的购物中心。后来她卖掉了商场,把生意搬到了加拿大。

刘的简介说,她“特别喜欢亲自动手做生意”,对商业地产有着“永不满足的热情”,她的成就包括“开创了绿色可持续发展”。

网站还介绍了刘是许多与北京相关组织的成员或理事,包括省政协、广东海外友好协会、中国妇女企业家联合会和中华全国工商业联合会。

Todd在文章中称,乔治华盛顿大学教授Bruce Dickson在他的新书《党与人民:21世纪的中国政治》中说,中国的共产党统治者对这些大型组织实行“严格控制”。这类组织在海外运作是为了“降低中国政府在项目中的可见度,并为抵制中国影响提供缓冲。”

中心城的执行董事Fang Sun周四通过电子邮件回应了Postmedia的采访请求。她拒绝回答一系列问题。

Todd的文章还称,前加拿大驻华外交官Charles Burton在麦克唐纳-劳里埃研究所(Macdonald-Laurier Institute)专门研究加中关系。他说,刘在广东海外友好协会和类似组织的会员身份表明她人脉广泛。

Burton觉得很有意思的是,刘的公司想在BC省的购物中心地产上开发市场住宅,包括住宅楼。他称许多中国富人希望在中国以外拥有房产,因为中国当局不可能没收这些房产。Burton说:“在国外拥有房产可以帮助一些中国人避免破产。”

去年,中心城的开发总监Valen Tam告诉Victoria Times Colonist记者Carla Wilson,刘是加拿大的永久居民,这意味着她不必放弃中国护照。

文章还称,刘的公司一度拥有维多利亚的费尔蒙特皇后酒店(Fairmont Empress Hotel),但在2014年卖给了温哥华的开发商Nat Bosa。Tam去年表示,温哥华岛是中心城的“基地,也是我们最珍惜的地方”,但她承认,刘在温哥华岛上并没有特定的住所。她的代理人表示,她在不同的时间生活在不同的地方。

    Michael Pheasey 15 HRS AGO Im old enough to remember back in the 70's when we were concerned about hyper U.S. investment in Canada and what reprocutions that may have had on our sovereignty. Same thing when the Japanese started to pour money into high rise office buildings across Canada and the U.S. The feeling was that our economy's were on the verge of collapse. Some how we made it through. The Chinese are a different kettle of fish. I dont think its much of a stretch to suggest that war with China is likely on the horizon within the next 20 years. The woman who runs this company has deep ties with the C.C.P. Beware the fifth column.

It seems in 2012 "SHENZHEN Yijing Central Walk Business Co. was suspected of illegally selling retail property" as per an article in Shenzen Daily. Also the same owner of this company "punched a reporter in the chest during a Monday press conference" as reported by Shenzen Daily, in regards to an investigation into the illegal property sales, also in 2012. An company by the name of Central Walk Barbados is registered under person by the name of Weihong Liu, leaked by the Panama Papers. With the current scrutiny of Russian assets being held overseas, hopefully the ownership of some of the largest commercial real estate in western British Columbia would also be transparent in the ownership and source of funds. As per Central Walk's own website, Ms. Weihong Liu serves as a member of the All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce, operating under the leadership of the United Front Work Department of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, which as per Wikipedia: "gathers intelligence on, manages relations with, and attempts to influence elite individuals and organizations inside and outside China", and which is currently under sanctions and visa restrictions by the U.S government. She also serves as a member (per Central Walk's website) of the Provincial Congress of Political Consultation, is a part of the CCP's United Front organization, whos purpose is (per Wikipedia): " political strategy of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) involving networks of groups and key individuals that are influenced or controlled by the CCP and used to advance its interests"
